Partner of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice at Lidings Alexander Popelyuk will speak at the 8th Annual British Russian Law Association (BRLA) Seminar on Strategies for debt recovery and asset tracing. This year’s event is scheduled on 10-11 of September to take place in two cities: Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg. First to host the seminar’s guests on September 10th is Ekaterinburg’s Yeltsin Centre. The venue of the seminar on September 11th is St. Petersburg’s Chamber of Advocates.
At the seminar, representatives of notable law firms from England, Russia, BVI and Cyprus will discuss practical aspects of debt recovery and asset tracing in England, as well as some topic issues of bankruptcy proceedings. Alexander Popelyuk, a highly qualified litigator whose expertise within Lidings is focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency issues, as well as on advising clients on corporate conflicts, prevention and business restructuring, will make a special presentation on Claims against UBO’s and other third parties under Russian insolvency law also highlighting recent changes.
The British Russian Law Association was established in 1992 as the successor to the British-Soviet Law Association following the break-up of the Soviet Union. The BRLA’s objectives include strengthening links between the legal professions in the UK and the Russian Federation and providing a networking forum for lawyers, businessmen and anyone with an interest in developing Russo-British contacts and business. Lidings has actively collaborated with the Association over the past several years. Firm’s Managing Partner, Head of the dispute resolution practice, Andrey Zelenin, is also a member of the organizing committee.
